LIST RULES
Your Expectations - Our Expectations
IMPORTANT!!! If you want to subscribe to the POLYAMOUR list, we want to know:
What is your motivation? So, after having read the following information, please answer us with an e-mail. Thank you.
Our goal as POLYAMOUR association is to MOVE something. Like gay activists have moved a lot. To the profit of all gay people.
We want the list to be multilingual, for two reasons:
A) In Europe, we have many languages, so, as POLYAMOUR does claim to be an European movement (networking with non-European associations, of course!), our list is intended to be multilingual.
B) On a multilingual list, it seems to be more likely to meet people with a well developed intellect. It seems also more likely to meet people who have lived in different cultures. People who are able to question their own personal frame of reference and to see their personal experience with a distance and not as universal truth!...
Some of you use to be on other mail lists too, so you know the issue: Very often list members want the list owner or the moderators being active, to do this, or to do that. There are poly lists where people have nice, pleasant chats, there are lists where there is a lot of giving advises, or a way to meet people. So, list members have expectations towards the list, the OWNERS of the POLYAMOUR list, towards the moderators.
Now, for the list of the POLYAMOUR association, we see it the other way round:
WE have expectations towards the people on the POLYAMOUR list!
We expect our list members, to be ACTIVE!
In our meeting , we have decided, that people, who are no POLYAMOUR members, can participate at the mail list under ONE of the following conditions:
First of all: You are an ACTIVE NETWORKER!!!
A) You have a mail list yourself, and we are mutual guests... or
B) You are one of the active members of a POLY or Bi organization... or
C) You are willing to write at least one contribution per month, that you would like to be published on the POLYAMOUR website .... or
D) To surf on the net, and find interesting articles/events on the net Articles dealing with good, natural sexuality , new positive laws coming up (or new restrictive laws to be informed about), dealing with sexuality...or...
E) You become a member of POLYAMOUR ( fee is 30 Euros for 6 months) .
We do not insist on the difference between HOMO, HETERO, BI or other "SEXUALITY". We insist on the fact, that SEXUAL ACTIVITIES between adults should not be controlled by the government at all. Like nobody in democratic countries controls your way of eating.
SEX AS NATURAL AS EATING IS OUR GOAL. Sounds simple... but it needs a lot of work.
Now, we have checked that out with our members (POLYAMOUR is a registered society ). Our official position is:
WE want to be ACTIVE as an association. We want to do networking. We want to influence political and social life to make it possible for people to live their SEXUAL and NONSEXUAL relationship in a free and open way. We want that the SEXUAL PLEASURE (between adults) may be lived openly without legal or social disadvantages. There is a lot of work to be done.
If you want to change a paradigma, there are those who do not know what that means. There are those who want others to do the work. There are "visionaries" who dare to imagine the unimaginable. The are the pioneers who DO the work together with the "visionaries" (Thanks to a lot of gay , lesbian , bisexual and poly people who already DID a great job). It's like in the development of an innovative technical product...
And there are the "settlers" who come, when the work is done. They want to "use" the product.
(For a product, normally, one has to pay)
Well, our official position is that we are interested in the visionaries and in the pioneers.
The settlers, who just want to "consume" will have to pay for the "services" the POLYAMOUR association is offering (Workshops, ads, counseling...) You may also become a member of POLYAMOUR if you are interested in supporting the movement with money, and don't have too much time.
But what the POLYAMOUR association is interested in, is support and participating. Welcome to all the visionaries and pioneers on the list... POLYAMOUR TEAM
